Photoshoot with Samantha

I’ve been doing a lot of shooting, but haven’t been very good about updating this site lately.  I just uploaded some new photos to the sets for models Manyel, Sarah, and Samantha.  The photo above is from a photoshoot with Samantha at Fort Desoto.

Visit to Pittsburgh

I recently visited Pittsburgh, my hometown.  Just south of the city is Mount Washington, a large hill that overlooks the city and its rivers.

Many people get to the top of Mount Washington by taking one of the famous inclines.  You can also drive to the top and cruise along Grandview Avenue, where there are a number of viewing platforms.

Regardless of how you get there, the view is spectacular.  More images from my trip to Pittsburgh can be found here.

Lighting of Tampa’s Bridges

A project to light several of Tampa’s bridges was recently completed.  Energy efficient LED lighting was used, and the colors slowly change over time.  Above is a shot of the Kennedy Bridge along the Hillsborough River.

More shots of the downtown Tampa area can be found here.

Photoshoot with Emerald

My latest photoshoot was at Fort Desoto with Emerald.  This is one of my favorite photos from the shoot, where she shows her great smile.  It is the perfect time of year to get this type of shot because the water temperature in the Gulf is around 85 degrees.

Photoshoot with Jessica

I had another photoshoot recently with one of my favorite models, Jessica Brazil, aka Jessica Negromonte.  Jessica looked beautiful as usual, and did a great job with hair, makeup, and styling.  We were shooting indoors, but rather than use a white backdrop, I opened up the windows and then mixed some studio flash with the natural lighting.  I really like the bright, soft look we achieved.  More photos from this and previous shoots with Jessica can be found here.

Tarpon Springs

I visited Tarpon Springs last night, and took a few photos while I was there.  A statue honoring sponge divers is located along the waterfront near some working sponge boats.  I was shooting a long exposure (f/8, 20 seconds, ISO 200) when lightning lit up the sky.  I had to wait a few seconds for the exposure to complete to see if any of the lightning had made it into my photo.  I got lucky!  A couple of more photos from last night are located here.

Curtis Hixon Park, Tampa

This is a photo of Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa.  The white building on the left is the Glazer Children’s Museum.  The two tall buildings are Skypoint and The Element.  The photo was taken from Plant Park looking east across the Hillsborough River.

Taylor – Honeymoon Island

I had a great shoot recently with Taylor Montague at Honeymoon Island State Park. The goal was to shoot clean, simple images with a beachy feel. To give the photos a more natural look, I did very limited skin retouching.  In addition, I intentionally overexposed the backgrounds a bit to give things a bright mood.

More photos are available here.

Military exercises

A few weeks ago SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference) was held in Tampa.  As part of the conference, and perhaps in part to prepare for the upcoming Republican National Convention, a capability demonstration involving a simulated rescue was presented.

Krissa in downtown Sarasota

My friend (and fellow photographer) Earle Kimel invited me down to Sarasota last week to do a photoshoot with Krissa.  We spent some time along the bayfront during sunlight hours, and then continued shooting downtown.  I was very pleased with the results.  Many thanks to both Krissa and Earle for a successful photoshoot!  More photos are available by selecting Krissa from the “Models” menu at the top of the page.
